Superintendent/Administrator

 

Alpine Elementary School District is a small rural district in the White Mountains of Arizona.  Set in the tall pines at an 8000 ft. elevation. The air is pristine, the views are breathtaking and the people are friendly.  Alpine Elementary School provides the children of Alpine a high quality and personalized education.  The Alpine Governing Board is committed to high expectations for student achievement. Alpine Elementary has a strong collaborative process that involves our school and our community stakeholders.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:          1. Experience in teaching and school administration at

least ten years.

  1. An earned Master’s Degree with a major in educational 

administration; preferably, one year of graduate work

beyond the Master’s Degree.

  1. A valid Arizona Principal certificate required. Superintendent certificate preferred. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find acceptable.

  2. Preference for living in the district.

 

  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills with a sensitivity for diverse views and opinions.

  • Outstanding commitment to strong hands-on leadership.

  • Committed to the academic success and intellectual growth of students as the major factor in school district decisions.

  • Ability to lead teachers, staff, parents, and community members through the decision making process.

  • High standards and expectations of self and others, including professionalism, personal integrity, accountability, honesty, accessibility, hands-on involvement, and total commitment to the District.

  • Persuasive skills in addressing educational issues at federal, state, local, and community levels.

  • High level of technical knowledge in education laws, practices and procedures involving key areas of special education, curriculum, and student learning assessments.

  • Approachable and accessible to staff, parents and public.

  • Experience in successfully leading and implementing a district-wide strategic plan.
