POSITION- Middle School Math Teacher 2018-2019 School Year Middle School Math Teachers hold primary responsibility for the implementation and of Arizona Charter Academy’s curriculum and the success of its students. Therefore, Arizona Charter Academy seeks teachers who are committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction through collaboration as part of a grade level and/or content team. RESPONSIBILITIES • Teacher will show unwavering commitment to all students achieving greatness • Teacher will create a positive, structured learning environment to ensure that students observe the school’s core values, high expectations, and code of conduct • Teacher implement curricula (Eureka/EngageNY) and activities to meet academic standards • Teacher uses assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices • Teacher participates in collaborative curriculum mastery, data analysis, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions • Teacher provides consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior • Teacher is accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards • Teacher communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues • Teacher exhibits resilience to persevere and turn challenges into opportunities • Teacher commits to continual professional growth, participating actively in department meetings, faculty meetings, and other meetings • Teacher participates in a two-week staff orientation and training before school begins, monthly professional development and weekly individual coaching • Teacher demonstrates mastery of and enthusiasm of math content QUALIFICATIONS • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree • Hold a valid fingerprint clearance card • Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player • Valid State Certification is helpful but not required, though all candidates must meet criteria to be “highly qualified” including passing the appropriate NES/AEPA Assessments • Belief in and alignment with Arizona Charter Academy’s core beliefs and educational philosophy is non-negotiable.
