Job Description:

Base Salary:

$54,035.00

Performance Pay:

Available annually

New hire experience:

$500 for each full-time year of certified teaching or verified like experience

New hire education:

$65/hour of graduate level credits:  MA +60 hours max; $1000 for advanced degrees (PhD. or Ed.D.)

Class/Calendar:

Certified Exempt, 187 workdays

Candidates must complete an on-line application which requires appropriate Arizona certification, valid IVP Arizona fingerprint clearance card, evidence of highly qualified status, three letters of recommendation, and transcript of credits.

 

OVERVIEW:

The IB (International Baccalaureate) Coordinator will lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential by translating the district curriculum standards and objectives into meaningful learning experiences through classroom instruction and indirectly through special area assignments. The teacher is responsible for maintaining a positive and appropriate educational environment and creating a program that meets the intellectual and emotional needs of all students.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate
  • Masters preferred
  • Current IVP Fingerprint Card
  • Recent coursework and training by International Baccalaureate
  • Minimum five years successful classroom teaching experience
  • Demonstrates knowledge of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials.
  • Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and effective professional relationships with teachers, administrators, parents, students
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with parents and school personnel at all levels

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of related subject matter, instructional skills and resource materials
  • Assist students in planning choices for their future IB courses and all elements of the IB core
  • Communicate information for the school’s IB Program to students, parents and community
  • Ensure that appropriate IB staff members have access to the ManageBac and understand how to use the resources
  • Coordinate faculty participation in IB workshops and professional development activities.
  • Arrange for new teacher induction into IB, providing information and resources of all relevant aspects of the program including the Approaches to teaching and learning
  • Organize regular meetings for discussion, planning, and collaboration for IB teachers within professional learning committees
  • Help teachers, students, and parents understand the assessment and grading processes for all IB courses
  • Participate in the selection of IB teaching staff
  • Maintain copies of all correspondence with the IBO, including forms, documents reports
  • Organize and direct procedures for the 5-year program evaluation
  • Contribute to the presentation and promotion of IB programs within and outside the school
  • Ensure that appropriate textbooks, resources and facilities are available
  • Attend IB workshops and professional development activities, inform school current of developments
