Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for K-12 students to join our team at North Phoenix School]. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting the educational and developmental needs of students with diverse learning abilities. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborating with general education teachers, and fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.

Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the individual needs of students.

Assess students’ skills to determine their needs and to develop teaching plans.

Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment.

Employ a variety of teaching techniques and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.

Monitor student progress and provide ongoing feedback to students, parents, and staff.

Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and other staff to support students’ educational and social development.

Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.

Participate in professional development activities to stay current with advancements in special education.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Valid Arizona teaching certification in Special Education.

Experience working with K-12 students with special needs.

Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.

Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
