Job Summary:
· The position assists the Deputy Associate Superintendent with all areas of the Arizona achievement assessment program. The state achievement assessment program includes Arizona’s Science Assessment (AZSCI), Arizona’s Academic Standards Assessment (AASA), ACT Aspire and ACT for English Language Arts and Mathematics.
· This individual is responsible for directing work with the assessment vendor(s) on the design, implementation, and analysis of statewide achievement assessments.
· Occasional in-state and rare out-of-state travel is required for this position.
Job Duties:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge in:
· A Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field, or equivalent experience to substitute for the degree, is required
Skills in:
· Intermediate skill with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and 508 compliance for all web-based documents
Ability to:
· Work independently
· Lead
· Follow direction
· Seek out appropriate knowledge, experiences, and resources to complete assignments
· Understand complex issues and explain complex issues with clarity and precision
· Determine what is important/critical at the moment
· Prioritize and plan accordingly
· Remain focused on what is important in spite of distractions
· Meet timelines
Selective Preferences:
Preference will be given to those applicants with:
· An advanced degree
· Experience with accessibility needs of students, knowledge of state and federal laws and Arizona Administrative Code
· Supervisory experience
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Retirement:
You will be required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) upon your 27th week of employment, subject to waiting period. On or shortly after, your first day of employment you will be provided with enrollment instructions and effective date.
