Job Description:

SELF-CONTAINED Special Needs Kindergarten, K-8: Autism, Behavior, Emotional Disabilities, Mild-Moderate.

SALARY: $50,000 - $81,950. First year teacher can earn $53,000 with Performance Pay ($3,000.00 approx.), which is earned and paid the same year. Special Education teachers also receive an additional $3,000 stipend for holding a Standard Professional or Alternative Pathways Special Education Teaching Certificate.

MINIMUM REQUIREMEENTS:

·       A Bachelor's Degree in any area 

 PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Arizona Teaching Certificate
  • Enrollment in a Teacher Certification Program (Senior Year), or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Secondary Education or Special Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in any area other that is not in Education and is willing to participate in the WESD’s FREE two year Alternative Pathways Teacher Certification Program.

WESD offers BRIDGE, a free Classroom-Based Certificate program. No weekend coursework or

late evenings. Applicants who have a Bachelor's Degree in any area other than education and

would like to teach, call 602-347-2622.  Bridge is offered in General Education (K-6) and Special

Education (Mild-Moderate).
