Job Description:

Mathematics Teachers needed for 6th - 8th Grades in Elementary and Middle Schools. Some positions are single subject Mathematics, while others are a combination of Math/Science (6th Grade).

SALARY: $50,000 - $81,950. First year teacher can earn $53,000 with Performance Pay ($3,000.00 approx.), which is earned and paid the same year. 

Washington Elementary School District - The largest K-8 Elementary District (33 Schools) in Arizona. We are proud to serve a diverse student population. We are centrally located in the heart of the Phoenix Valley (Maricopay County) with 33 elementary and middle schools. WESD offers an exceptional support system for Paid Student Teachers, Alternative Pathways Teachers (Degree outside education), Traditional Student Teachers, and continuing teachers, so all teachers feel supported! There are Mentors and an Instructional Coach at every site. WESD also provides District Coaches who do not evaluate, but visit schools with the purpose of helping teachers as an additional support system.

MINIMUM REQUIREMEENTS:

·         A Bachelor's Degree in any area 

 PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Arizona Teaching Certificate
  • Enrollment in a Teacher Certification Program (Senior Year), or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Secondary Education or Special Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in any area other that is not in Education and is willing to participate in the WESD’s FREE two year Alternative Pathways Teacher Certification Program.

WESD offers BRIDGE, a free Classroom-Based Certificate program. No weekend or lateevening training.
