Job Description:

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Assistant Principal

 

 

  I.        General Description:

 

1.            Responsible for the operation of the school in the absence of the Principal.

 

2.            Assist the Principal in performing routine and developing administrative tasks.

 

3.            Complies with Governing Board policies, rules, and regulations, and approved administrative practices and procedures of the District.

 

 II.        Qualifications:

 

1.           Arizona Principal Certification. 

 

2.           Bilingual – Navajo and English preferred.

 

3.           Minimum three years teaching experience.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1.    Supervises and evaluates classroom instruction as assigned.

 

2.    Assists in curriculum development as assigned.

 

3.    Supervises extra-curricular activities as assigned.

 

4.    Assists in preparation of the master schedule as assigned.

 

5.    Monitors budgetary needs as assigned.

 

6.    Reviews textbook, equipment, and supply orders as assigned.

 

7.    Directs and supervises all pupil accounting and related reports as assigned.

Assistant Principal – Duties and Responsibilities continued:

 

 8.        Directs and supervises financial accounting of student activity funds as assigned.

 

9.           Confers with student and parents regarding achievement growth, behavior, and other matters related to student success.

 

10.       Monitors pupil attendance. 

 

                        11.       Refers students to the proper authorities for health, counseling, suspensions, etc. 

 

12.         Represents the school in professional and community functions as assigned.

 

13.         Supervises Special Education and IEP meetings.

 

14.         Performs other duties as assigned.

            FLSA – Exempt
