Special Education Music Teacher

SUMMARY

Effectively manage the Special Education learning environment to prepare lesson plans, provide specialized instruction, evaluate, monitor, and collect data on the students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning. The Special Education Music Teacher will complete required case management duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Special Education Music Teacher 

• Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate - Mild/Moderate
• Standard professional PreK-12 Music Certificate
• Structured English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement
• Appropriate Special Education Endorsement/Approved Area
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
• Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement
• Cross Categorical Certification is Preferred

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
• Valid Driver's LicenseMVReport - showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
• Reliable mode of personal transportation with evidence of insurance compliance greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees

• Pay Range$50,400 to $57,400/year

• LOCATION: Exceptional Education Department - Sites vary
• FTE : 1.0 - 7.5 hours per day
  • Work Calendar: 9.5 month
  • Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

New Teachers to the District may be eligible for a one-time recruitment stipend (up to $5,000) if hired into one of the following positions: Ex Ed, Math, Science.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
