Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To create a flexible middle school Spanish program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in accordance with each pupil’s ability; establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor Degree
  2. Arizona Elementary and/or Secondary Certification
  3. Appropriately certified in Spanish (required)
  4. SEI, Bilingual, or ESL endorsement (preferred)

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate teaching skills and knowledge in assigned academic area, utilizing course of study adopted by the Governing Board and other appropriate learning
  • Instruct pupils in subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each
  • Evaluate pupil’s academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
  • Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil’s progress and interpret the school
  • Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning
  • Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards and interest centers.
  • Maintain professional competence through in-service professional development activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth
  • Select and requisition instructional aids and materials; maintain required inventory
  • Perform other duties as
