5 Grade Teacher Position Open
Full-time position for 2024-2025
5th Grade teacher
· Provides opportunities for problem solving and inquiry learning
· Plans and designs effective learning environments and experiences supported by technology
· Demonstrates skills and knowledge that reflect current educational research and best practices
· Establishes a learning community that is safe, warm, and caring
Contract days: 160 (approx )School days: 144 (this contract will be prorated for the rest of school working days)
Expected work and school hours (subject to change)
Work day: 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Monday-Thursday with one Friday Professional Development Day a month.
Requirements
· Highly Qualified Applicants preferred, proper credential and teaching certificate, working with Title I students
Work Conditions
· Salary range: Dependent upon education (typical starting pay is approximately $37,000 (negotiable upon experience) for a bachelor’s degree in education) + possible 301 monies (approx. $3,000)
Title I Tutoring available-an extra $5,000/year (varies)
· Three two-week breaks (October, December, March) and seven-week summer
· Health insurance paid for employee, ASRS, Title I school

Cañon School is located in Black Canyon City south of Cordes Junction and just 15 minutes north of Anthem. Our address is: 34360 South School Loop Road-Black Canyon City, Arizona 85324
We are a modified year-round school with three two-week breaks and a seven-week summer. Currently, we have 115 students. Cañon is a small school with a BIG heart!
