This position is for the 25-26 SY.
The interviews will be held November 2024.
Job description
1. State of Arizona Administrative Certificate with Principal Endorsement.
2. Minimum of Master’s Degree in Education.
3. Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience.
4. Training/experience in instructional improvement, staff development, curriculum development and discipline.
5. Minimum of one (1) year high school administrative experience.
6. IVP Fingerprint Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
SUPERVISES: Certificated and non-certificated members of the High School staff.
JOB GOAL(S):

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Establish and maintain an effective learning climate in the school.
2. Plan, organize and direct implementation of all school activities for the achievement of school goals.
3. Make recommendations concerning changes in the school administration, curriculum and instruction.
4. Initiate, design and implement programs to meet specific needs of the school.
5. Program/schedule classes within established guidelines to meet student needs.
6. Assume responsibility for the attendance, conduct, and health of students.
7. Maintain high standards of student conduct and enforce discipline as necessary, according due process to students.
8. Supervise the maintenance of accurate records on the progress and attendance of students.
9. Assume responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board policies and regulations by the school’s staff and students.
10. Establish and maintain favorable relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for overall school objectives and programs; to interpret Board policies and administrative directives; and to discuss and resolve individual student problems.
11. Direct the hiring, orientation training, assigning, and evaluating of the school’s professional staff.
12. Observe and conference with teachers and other staff, making recommendations for improvement of performance.
13. Hold special events to recognize student achievement, and attend school-sponsored activities, functions, and athletic events.
14. Plans for special conferences between parents and teachers.
15. Prepare and submit the school’s budget and monitor expenditures of funds.
16. Cooperate with college and university officials regarding teacher training and preparation.
17. Work with members of the Superintendent’s staff on school problems of more than in-school import, such as transportation, special services, and maintenance.
18. Conduct meetings of the staff as necessary for the proper functioning of the school.
19. Supervise the daily use of school facilities for both academic and non-academic use.
20. Plan and supervise fire drills and an emergency preparedness program.
21. Delegate authority to responsible personnel to assume responsibility for the school in the absence of the Principal.
22. Keep abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
23. Keep the Superintendent informed of the school’s activities and problems.
24. Assert leadership in times of civil disobedience in school in accordance with established Board policy.
25. Direct preparation of Student/Parent and Faculty handbooks.
26. Supervise the guidance program to enhance individual student education and development.
27. Supervise and evaluate the school’s extra-curricular program.
28. Maintain and control the various funds generated by student activities.
29. Be an ex-officio member at all school committees and councils.
30. Follow guidelines established by North Central Association of Colleges and schools in regard to NCA Membership.
31. Evaluate teachers and other staff members, making recommendations for renewal of contracts.
32. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
