GATE Elementary Teacher

SUMMARY

GATE Elementary Teacher - Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct students, evaluate, and monitor students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity.
Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS for GATE Elementary Teacher

• Arizona Elementary Certificate K-8, Provisional or Permanent Gifted Endorsement or willingness to pursue during the 2024-2025 school year.

OR

• Arizona Middle Grades Certificate with Middle Grades Mathematics Approved Area AND Provisional or Permanent Gifted Endorsement or willingness to pursue during the 2024-2025 school year.

OR

• Arizona Secondary Certificate with Mathematics Approved Area AND Provisional or Permanent Gifted Endorsement or willingness to pursue during the 2024-2025 school year.
• Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
• Permanent Gifted Endorsement

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

• GATE Elementary Teacher Pay Range $47,900 to $54,900/year

• LOCATION:Wheeler Elementary School - 22nd St & Wilmot area
• FTE : 1.0 - 7.5 hours per day
• Work Calendar: 9.5 month
• Grade Levels currently available: 3rd Grade
• Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

New Teachers to the District may be eligible for a one-time recruitment stipend (up to $5,000) if hired into one of the following positions: Ex Ed, Math, Science.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
