SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST
Position Summary:
School psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams that support students' ability to learn and teachers' ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. School psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct psychological assessment; evaluate students for special education/section 504 needs, educational skills, social skills, and emotional status.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of human development throughout the life and integrates with student’s unique developmental status.
· Knowledge of child psychology principles, assessments, methods, behavior modification, etc., and current developments in child psychology.
· Knowledge of the influence of disabilities, socio-cultural and socioeconomic factors on student’s ability to participate in occupations.
· Knowledge of differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
· Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.
· Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
· Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
· Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
· Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
· Must demonstrate the ability to coordinate special education/section 504 services and comply with special education/ section 504 rules and due process requirements.
· Must demonstrate knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS and various evidence-based practices
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
· Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
· Certification/License: School Psychologist
· Arizona State Certification as a School Psychologist
· Meet Arizona licensure requirements annually or National Certification
· Familiarity with Navajo language and culture preferred.
Computer Proficiency: MS Office Suite, Google Suite

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position regularly works indoors. The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have contact with employees, external agencies, and the public.
