JOB TITLE: Systems Administrator / Senior Systems Administrator
REPORTS TO: Technology Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION: Assists Systems Administrators / System Engineer in overseeing and maintaining the network operations, communications, and access systems. Senior status will be determined based on experience level, demonstrated skills, overall performance, and position availability.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists IT Systems Administrator / Engineer in maintaining all network operations and ensuring the network is up and running at all times.
Primary duty consists of the application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications (Title 29 541.400, 541.402).
Documents systems and configuration changes for all access and communications systems.
Implements, maintains, secures, and manages all equipment and systems dealing with access and communications ensuring systems are operational at all times. This includes but is not limited to:
Campus PA and Bell Systems
Google Admin
HVAC / Power Outage Response
Infrastructure Wiring
Internet Connectivity and Filtering
Mobile Device Management (FileWave)
Phones
Security Cameras / Vape Sensors
Software Licensing Procurement
Switches and Routers
Tests Application Compatibility with Hardware and OS
User Accounts and Integration between Systems
Wire Plant Terminations
Wireless Access Points
Serves as an adviser for Network and IT Technicians.
Assists IT Systems Engineer in designing, developing, documenting, analyzing, creating, testing and modifying computer systems and programs related to users.
Researches licensing, compatibility, and account integration on software.
Facilitates and maintains staff and student information data flow between all in-house and third-party systems.
Maintains physical equipment and the environment in all server rooms, MDFs and IDFs.
Able to use team organization systems, multi-task without losing attention to detail or product quality, focus on deploying quality products, provide excellent customer service, and schedule/project plan.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge in the field of networking and technology by participating in training and workshops.
Effectively communicates technical information to staff in a positive manner.
Performs such other tasks or duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Safford Unified School District is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator responsible for assisting the System Engineer in overseeing and maintaining the network operations, communications, and access systems. Candidates should have proven experience in system administration and IT infrastructure management, strong knowledge of operating systems, and computer networking. Once hired, the status of Senior Systems Administrator may be granted based on experience level, demonstrated skills, overall performance, and position availability.
IT Systems Administrator is a 12-month, full-time, flex calendar position with benefits. Pay $57,753 - $74,635 per year depending on experience level. Additional compensation of $10,542 for retention stipend and supplemental contract.
Work week is Monday - Thursday. Contract is for 200 work days.
