High School Chemistry Teacher

TUSD Title: Teacher HS - Chemistry #8708

**This is a temporary position for the 2024-2025 School Year, ending on 05/23/2025.**

SUMMARY

Effectively manage the learning environment to prepare lesson plans, instruct students, evaluate and monitor students’ performance in order to advance student achievement. Understand and appreciate diversity. Work collaboratively with a team to plan instruction. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS HIGH SCHOOL CHEMISTRY TEACHER

• Arizona Secondary Certificate with Chemistry Approved Area

OR

• Arizona Subject Matter Expert Certificate 6-12 with Chemistry Approved Area
• Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students
• Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE:

• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

• Effective: 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR
• LOCATION: Sabino High School - Snyder & Harrison Area
• FTE : 1.0 - 7.5 hours per day
• Work Calendar: 9.5 month
• Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
