Job Description:

❖ Job Description
o Plans a program of study, employing a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, that meets the individual
needs, interests, and abilities of the students as well as state academic standards
o Clearly communicates specific learning objectives to students
o Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
o Utilizes multi-sensory activities including audio/visual and computer presentations, outside and change of location activities,
visuals, and graphics
o Evaluates students’ academic and social growth, maintains accurate gradebook, keeps appropriate records, and prepares
progress reports and report cards.
o Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.
o Duties may include campus duties such as drop off/pick up supervision, playground/recess duty and other duties as assigned
by Principal/Supervisor.
o Demonstrates effective communication skills with parents, students, Principal, other teachers/aides, and District staff
o Conducts regular class communication through newsletters, notes, email
o Phone calls to parents of struggling students or as needed
o Posts grades to gradebook in a timely manner to provide parents and students with accurate information
o Maintains accurate records including accurate daily attendance, reports, and lesson plans
o Ability to remain professional and courteous under stressful circumstances
o Must be able to successfully implement and operate technological tools and devices
❖ Follows Policies and Procedures
o Consistently follows, maintains, and conforms to all district policies and procedures
o Follows dress code and wears badge
o Adheres to procedures regarding finances, field trips, etc.
o Acts within the guidelines of FERPA; provides cooperation for and carries out special education services (including 45-day
evals)
❖ Regular, On-Time Attendance
o Attends school each day. Notifies Principal of absences in a timely manner
o Arrives on time before school begins and returns on time after lunch periods and remains on campus until after release time
o Attends faculty meetings, in-service training and student life activities
❖ Physical Demands
o May lift, pull, push or carry. May require physical strength to push/pull 50 lbs.
o May sit or stand for a prolonged period of time
o May be exposed to outdoor elements
o May require physical intervention for students experiencing behavioral difficulties
o May assist other personnel in physical demands
❖ Qualifications
o Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution. Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred
o Meets all appropriately certified requirements for the grade level or subject area including proper teaching area endorsements.
o Current Arizona teaching certificate preferred
o Current IVP Fingerprint clearance card required

instruction from the Principal or other supervisory authority.
