Job Description:
Definition:
The Physical Therapist (P.T.) provides therapy evaluation and service to qualified students, ages 3-22. S/he acts as a liaision between schools and agencies when medically related therapy is being provided out-of-district.

Tasks:
Participate in pre-referral process to general modifications and accommodations to be implemented in regular education settings. Obtains and relays information to and from parents and other medical personnel relating to a student’s physical status and needs. Conducts screenings and evaluations relating to physical therapy needs. Provides input to diagnostic and placement team relating to a student’s P.T. evaluation and placements. Develops therapy related goals and objectives as part of the student’s Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.). Designs and implements activities to help a student meet the goals and objectives of his/her I.E.P.
Knowledge, Skills and other Characteristics:
Has a thorough knowledge of the field of physical therapy as well as special education requirements (both federal and state regulations).
The P.T. will work independently and must possess a high degree of motivation, self-direction, and accountability.
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent sitting, repetitive motion, vision to monitor and lifting up to 15 pounds.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.
Arizona Physical Therapy License
Experience working within the school setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Additional compensation will be considered if candidate meets preferred qualifications):
Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy or similar
Arizona Physical Therapy License
Experience working within the school setting.
Will Supervise a minimum of 1, maximum of 2 Physical Therapists; supervises a maximum of 4 Physical Therapist Assistants.
Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment.
Salary: Refer to PNT Salary Schedule Hours per Day: 8 Days in Contract: 211 Start Date: 2024/2025 School Year
