Position Overview:
EDUPRIZE High School is seeking a caring, committed and passionate teacher to join our incredible learning community. This teacher will need to differentiate for varied learning styles and needs, plan quality lessons, use Google Classroom, and communicate with parents. We believe in teaching to mastery, and that all students have a right to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Instruction
Instruct students in multiple subjects, using various teaching methods, technologies, audiovisual aids and other materials.
Prepares outline for course of study, following curriculum guidelines and requirements of state and school.
Determines instruction techniques, strategies, methods and adapts curriculum and learning styles to meet student’s needs.
Assesses and evaluates performance, behavior, and progress of students in grades, progress reports and comprehension of learning objectives.
Maintains a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning, and demonstrates skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
Parent Communication
Meets with students and parents to discuss student progress and problems.
Maintains open lines of communication with parents/guardians about academic and discipline issues through various mediums including phone calls, notes, progress reports, etc.
Participates in parent-teacher conferences twice a year.
Testing
Administers tests to evaluate pupil progress, assesses student work, and record results.
Assists with state mandated student testing, including proctoring.
Maintains confidentiality and security of testing materials and scores.
Professional Responsibilities
Contributes to professional growth of self and colleagues, including sharing and planning curriculum, staying current with educational trends, and continuing professional development to meet the state and school requirements, including current teaching certificates.
Support student IEP/504 needs and State/Federal obligations.
Participates in various community groups or functions, faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
Works collaboratively to achieve the overall purposes of the school.
Participates in related activities, such as committees or student organizations.
Maintains confidentiality of protected student and staff member information.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in English or related field.
State of Arizona Teaching Certificate (appropriate endorsements may be required depending on the area of instruction or have passed appropriate AEPA or NES proficiency exams).
Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
3-5 years of teaching experience (preferred)
Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with students, parents, and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
Working knowledge of Google suite, including Google Classroom.
Ability to work independently and efficiently, exercising reasonable judgment, in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with minimal supervision.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate problem solving skills, while maintaining courtesy and professionalism.
