Horizon Honors High School in Phoenix (Ahwatukee) is searching for a High School Chemistry Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year!
POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will specifically support high school students in Chemistry. Students will need to analyze and interpret data, plan and carry out a scientific investigation, construct explanations of scientific phenomena, and support conclusions with evidence. In addition, students will need support with computational thinking and the use of cross-curricular skills to develop scientific reasoning and problem solving.
We are seeking a teacher with a genuine desire to help students achieve, understand their challenges, and greater independence. All teachers are provided with individualized coaching/mentoring focused on improving their skills as teachers. Teachers interact with a high degree of collaboration between staff of all content areas. On-site Staff (only) daycare is available for those with little ones (0-4).

Essential Duties:
Become an integral part of the Horizon Honors community, supporting the Horizon Honors Mission Statement, Goals and school philosophy
Design and plan effective lessons targeting individual student academic levels
Implement effective instruction for all students, using student data to drive decisions
Team teach with colleagues
Develop and implement curriculum and standards at designated team/content level
Collaborate with the grade level/content teams to plan curriculum and units
Create a safe, positive learning environment for all students
Use effective problem-solving skills with students, parents, and colleagues
Communicate professionally and effectively and in a timely manner with students and their parents
Work in a team environment with teachers and/or teacher assistants to support student academic and social growth
Participate in weekly meetings including staff meetings, coaching sessions, collaborative planning and ongoing professional growth
Assigned supervision duties during the school day and outside of school hours
Other duties as assigned by the principal

Arizona Teaching Certificate or other Highly Qualified criteria
