About San Tan Charter School:

San Tan Charter School is a Kinder-12th grade public non-profit tuition free charter school with two campuses in the East Valley within minutes of each other. The Power campus is a Junior High/High School serving students in grades 7-12 and the Recker campus is an elementary school serving students K-6 including a private Montessori preschool and K-6 tuition free Montessori classrooms. The school uses a Love and Logic® approach to classroom management that is focused on building relationships and communicating with respect. The school focuses on “Education with a Purpose,” which means the teachers encourage their students’ love of learning, which enables them to face challenges and develop critical thinking skills. San Tan Charter School also offers a championship athletics experience 5th through 12th grade and PE daily K-6. San Tan Charter School teachers are responsible for the facilitation of learning and achievement. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and pay forward the vision, mission, and values of the school with consistent modeled integrity and work hard/play hard team centered work ethics.
  • Provide a welcoming and safe classroom environment, inspire happiness, and establish high expectations for all students.
  • Full fidelity and implementation of curriculum and planning and implementing remediation and enrichment as needed to keep each students at their cutting edge of learning and achievement.
  • Analyze formative and summative assessments and plan for and communicate the plan for student success with Roadrunner Roadmaps and Parent-teacher conferences four times a year-Quarterly Parent-Teacher Conferences, including a (designated late night to accommodate parents).
  • Maintains confidentiality per FERPA.
  • Using data to provide individualized and small group instruction across content areas daily.
  • Consistently use informal and formal assessments to monitor and adjust individual, large, and small group instruction.
  • Assessing progress and achievement
  • Supports an inclusion model by collaborating with all Exceptional Services and Specials teachers and parents with a shared responsibility for each of your students’ success.
  • Responsible for determining instruction techniques, strategies, methods and adapt curriculum to accommodate differing learning styles.
  • Planning and preparing for Learning Celebrations each semester.
  • Responsible for attending weekly collaborative all staff and team meetings for idea exchange/intervention planning among teachers both at grade level and across grade levels.
  • Responsible for following “Love and Logic” philosophies in your classroom management and not using any discipline and reward systems.
  • Following the Montessori Philosophies such as being the guide on the side and not the sage on the stage; engaging and building relationships with your students-eating lunch and being at recess with with students daily.
  • Maintain a peaceful learning environment, building relationships outside of the classroom
  • Engage in continuous learning through professional reflection, active collaboration with colleagues, and applicable professional development.
  • Planning and organizing educational field trips that align with your classroom learning, and encourage an interest for additional knowledge outside of the classroom.
  • Attending after hour and weekend events to promote our school community with our students, families, and vendors.
  • Coordinating and running at least one after school club
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as needed for the organization.

Participation in the gifted community, gifted trainings, and gifted teacher expectations are responsibilities of a San Tan gifted teacher over and above the role of teacher at San Tan.

Position Requirements:

  • Must hold a Class I Finger Print Clearance Card
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Passing of State Certificate Testing AEPA or other State Certification
  • Arizona State Teachers Certificate (in area of assignment) or Equivalent
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn differentiated instructional models

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in specialized area
  • Minimum three years of Classroom Experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
