Job Description:

Qualifications:

  • Valid Arizona Department of Education Certificate with valid endorsements (Highly Qualified).
  • Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of the specific assigned grade level.
  • Ability to work with 6-8 grade students.
  • Dedicated to the objectives of the public school educational programs.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Creative and flexible in developing and implementing programs.
  • Must follow appropriate dress code to meet health standards.
  • Ability to maintain rapport with staff members and students.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Social Studies subjects to students of varying ages and abilities, adhering to the curriculum and school policies.
  • Formulates, through individual and/or group learning experiences, a program to meet the needs of students assigned.
  • Provides individual and group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil, to the extent feasible.
  • Administers, scores, and records tests of each individual student and maintains a continuous record of each student’s progress.
  • Develops and prepares daily lesson plans and schedules.
  • Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment in the education areas.
  • Monitors field trips for the assigned grade level.
  • Prepares teaching aids for use with the students.
  • Participates in parent-teacher conferences and in-service training programs.
  • Keeps the principal informed of student’s progress throughout school year.
  • Operate a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Performs related duties as may be required.

Evaluation:

  • Performance is evaluated by the Principal.

Supervision Received and Exercised:

  • Is supervised by the Principal; exercises supervisory responsibilities over students.
