Job Summary:
This position:
· Monitors special education programs for compliance with Federal and State requirements pertaining to special education in the role of a lead monitor or a team member. The data gathered during the monitoring is used to create the Annual Performance Report (APR) for the State Performance Plan (SPP);
· Is assigned a specific number of Public Education Agencies (PEAs), which are provided technical assistance via monitoring activities and professional development;
· Reviews and analyzes data from PEAs in order to provide technical assistance.
· Provides guidance to special education directors and administrators related to requirements for reporting data; and
· Reviews and analyzes information from audit findings, dispute resolution, and annual PEA Determinations.
· Frequent in-state travel is required for this position.
The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.

You will be required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) upon your 27th week of employment, subject to waiting period. On or shortly after, your first day of employment you will be provided with enrollment instructions and effective date.
