Job Description:

Clinicians with license as a Professional Counselor (LPC), licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), School Social Worker, or School Counselor certification from the Arizona Department of Education are encouraged to apply.  

Within the Yavapai County school system, evaluates student problems and provides individual and group counseling services to assist individuals in achieving more effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment to support school success.

Major Duties, Responsibilities

  • Counsels with students in individual or group settings in assigned schools based on treatment plan goals.
  • Implements related service counseling per eligible special education students’ Individualized Education Plan
  • Contributes expertise in emotional and behavior change to the special education team and identifies and evaluates students with disabilities and special needs.
  • Evaluates student to determine need for counseling services through the use of case history, interview, and observation. Develops treatment plan for targeted behavior change.
  • Provides other services as requested by administrators and teachers in assigned schools.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: 
Master’s degree in Social Work or closely related field.

 

Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in social work or counseling working with children and families. An equivalent combination of directly related work experience and education may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-per-year basis. 

Additional Requirements:

Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.

Must possess appropriate licensure through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners to perform required duties.
