Job Description:
1. Provides ongoing support for new and experienced teachers in best teaching practices including classroom management and instructional strategies
2. Supports teachers in developing their ability to reflect upon their practice and applies instructional strategies to increase student achievement through quality instruction
3. Observes teachers and provides them with meaningful and specific feedback to improve instruction
4. Works with teachers in setting up management and planning aspects of their teaching assignments
5. Models instructional strategies and techniques
6. Communicates with teachers regularly to problem solve and support/counsel as needed
7. Performs formative observations, modeling, and assessments to coach in effective strategies
8. Assists with developing, implementing, and maintaining a district program of induction to support new teachers
9. Maintains a broad base of research, strategies, and techniques to share with teachers
10. Attends staff meetings and other training sessions appropriate for effective mentoring
11. Provides professional development as requested
12. Stays current with research and professional practices through personal professional development
13. Helps coordinate and focus campus staff development program with principal(s) aligned with school and District goals while collaborating with other instructional leaders
14. Uses student performance data to drive instructional decision-making
15. Maintains appropriate confidentiality of information
16. Maintains accurate records and supporting data, including teacher and student contact logs, and provides daily schedule to site principal(s)
17. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior
18. Advocates teacher-administrator communication to plan strategic intervention as necessary
Performs other responsibilities as assigned
