Job Description:

Fire Systems Facilities Technician

SUMMARY
Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains a wide variety of digital, analog, and security electronic equipment, to the component level.  Ensures that district fire safety devices are functional and operating in compliance with codes, laws and policies.  Coordinates activities of other trade shops, building engineers and subcontractors as needed.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Four (4) years experience in the maintenance and repair of digital and analog electronic systems,  to include fire alarm or security systems, card access systems, or intercom systems.
Completion of a recognized training or apprenticeship program in the field.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions. Basic computer skills.
 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check.
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and 75 lb lift test.
Must hold a current Arizona Driver’s license and have accrued no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.

Bloodborne pathogen training offered by TUSD Risk Managment Department

COMMENTS

Fire Systems Facilities Technician pay range $19.81 to $23.00/hour

Effective: 2024 - 2025 SCHOOL YEAR 
Location: School Safety & Security - Broadway & Kino Parkway Area 
Classification: Blue Collar

FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day 
Work Calendar: 12 month  

 

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
