Candeo Schools is seeking Teaching Fellows for the 2025-2026 school year.
Our Teaching Fellow Program is designed for individuals who hold a degree (or are currently pursuing one) and are eager to transition into a teaching career. This immersive, paid, on-the-job training program provides aspiring educators with the hands-on experience, mentorship, and professional development needed to successfully lead their own classroom the following year.
Fellows work closely with expert educators, learning from master teachers while actively engaging in the classroom. Through this process, they build strong instructional skills, develop classroom leadership, and deepen their understanding of classical education and the liberal arts tradition.

Teaching Fellow Responsibilities:
Work closely with mentor teachers, gaining hands-on experience in classroom instruction and management
Assist in lesson planning, student assessments, and instructional delivery
Support small-group and one-on-one instruction to reinforce student learning
Develop strong classroom leadership and learn best practices for engaging students in a classical education environment
Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations aligned with Candeo’s mission
Participate in ongoing professional development, training sessions, and mentorship programs
Assist with grading, student progress tracking, and classroom organization
Engage in school culture by supporting events, student activities, and school-wide initiatives
Lead the classroom in the teacher’s absence, ensuring continuity of instruction and maintaining Candeo’s high academic and behavioral standards
Fully prepare to transition into a lead teaching role the following year
Qualifications & Requirements:
✅ Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing one) in classical education, liberal arts, humanities, or a related field
✅ Strong passion for learning, teaching, and the classical liberal arts tradition
✅ Excellent communication and collaboration skills
✅ Ability to adapt, take initiative, and thrive in a structured, high-expectations environment
✅ Strong organizational and technical skills (Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
Required:
📌 Ability to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card prior to employment
Position Details:
📌 Job Type: Full-time, salaried
📌 Starting Salary: $42,000 annually ($6000 increase in second year with own classroom)
📌 Salary Increases: Based on performance, experience, and continued education
📌 Schedule: Monday - Friday
