Salary Range:

$40,000.00 - $49,500.00 USD annually.

The Accounting Clerk will perform accounting duties related to purchasing and supporting other corporate accounting tasks. Their responsibilities include processing schoolwide purchasing, reconciling corporate bank and credit card accounts and assisting other accounting areas as needed. Additionally, the Accounting Clerk will support the accounts receivable department by providing InTouch assistance to school sites and assisting the accounts receivable accountant with account reconciliation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma required, AA or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred

  • 0-1 years’ experience in related work 

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

  • Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate the corporate purchasing process to fulfill internal stakeholder requests and maintain a tracker for status updates

  • Review purchase orders for compliance with company policies before processing. 

  • Secure proper approvals from the requisitioning department.

  • Manage procurement portal accounts such as Amazon.

  • Manage our corporate card program by providing supports to the credit card holders and performing reconciliation.

  • Collaborates with the accounts receivable accountant to support school sites for their Intouch system needs and other revenue related inquiries. 

  • Perform weekly remote check deposits. 

  • Assist with the annual financial audit by preparing necessary reports and documentation.

  • Prepares reports for various governmental agencies.

  • Executes proper accounting methods, policies and principles.

  • Observes current processes, systems and controls to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in accounting software, preferably Sage Intacct.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the USFRCS.

  • Experience with school finance preferably Charter.

  • Experience with MS office suite.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to manage confidential matters discretely and with good judgment.

  • Self-starter, organized, dependable.

  • Capable of prioritizing multiple projects and responsibilities, and meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to analyze and assess issues and problem-solve accordingly.

  • Ability to work with others that allows for a productive and positive working environment. 

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

TRAVEL: 

Occasional travel may be required for site visits, meetings, trainings and/or conferences. Locations may vary and may require overnight stays.
