QUALIFICATIONS

1. Arizona Standard Special Education Teaching Certificate
2. Master degree preferred in Special Education or related field
3. Five (5) years of SpEd teaching experience or strong foundation of knowledge in educating students with disabilities
4. Experience with various special education platforms and databases, analyzing data, progress monitoring, development of individual education programs (IEPs) 
5. CPI and CPR certified, preferred
6. Knowledge, skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure that individual education programs (IEP) progress monitoring is collected and documented for quarterly progress reports and annual IEP meetings.
2. Facilitate regular site professional learning communities (PLCs) for site ESS staff for improving instruction, data collection, and implementing IEP services and supports.
3. Communicate with department Director for improving specially designed instruction (SDI), gathering of data for present levels, and IEP compliance.
4. Provide supports in developing professional development opportunities for special education and general education staff.
5. Mentor, observe, collaborate, and coach special education teachers in delivery and collection of SDI and in aligning instructional strategies for SDI or individual interventions.
6. Observe and coach special education paraeducators in reinforcing SDI, data collection, and progress monitoring.
7. Regular monitor special education programs, timelines, and progress monitoring for integrity and fidelity.
8. Collect and monitor student achievement data.
9. Review assessment data regularly with principals and make recommendations for instructional implications and/or remediation plans.
10. Meet with grade level teachers to monitor student achievement.
11. Attend regularly scheduled Instructional Coach meetings at the District Office.
