Base Rate:
$17.53
Performance Pay:
Available annually
New hire experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum
New hire education:
1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position
Class/Calendar:
A13, 9.25 months
Hours:
Full-time (40 hours per week)

OVERVIEW:
To assist in providing for the security and protection for student, staff and property at assigned site; to gather information to resolve security issues and determine appropriate response; to convey information and provide written support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and public; good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with youth and public preferred
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to work extra duty events when needed
- Successfully pass agility test for security staff
- Successful completion of security training program prior to the end of probationary period
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist campus security officer in the performance of their duties; report problems to campus security officer
- Observe and monitor student lunch areas, bus areas, restrooms and student/faculty parking lots
- Issue parking permits and parking violation notices
- Perform sweep duties when needed
- Campus patrol; observe and monitor student movement to/from school and during class change
- Assist students with minor safety/security concerns (locker or bike thefts, vandalism, etc)
- Assist campus administrators by bringing students to office upon request
- Assist with extracurricular events as needed
- Regular and on-time attendance required
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the effective and efficient function of the work unit
