Job Description:

ASA’s mission is to inspire creative thinkers and leaders through providing an innovative concentration in college preparation informed by the performing arts.

As a member of the Theatre Department, this faculty member teaches theatre to middle and high school students by designing, planning, and implementing challenging and relevant curriculum that focuses on the specific pedagogy needed for success in theatre performance. The curriculum includes: theatrical history; technique; contemporary, musical, and classical theatre; and theatre production. The teacher must be experienced in providing feedback to help students develop their performance skills.

Arts teachers have 2.5 hours of prep time for curriculum planning, meeting, integrating, and assessing.  The teacher will be responsible for writing their own curriculum to align with the national and state performing arts standards and social emotional learning (SEL) competencies. They will also be asked to differentiate their curriculum using additional resources as needed to support student growth and achievement.
