Position Overview
Candeo Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic K–3 Teacher for the 2025–26 school year. The specific grade level (Kindergarten through 3rd Grade) will be determined based on final staffing needs. We are looking for an educator who is eager to bring a classical, content-rich curriculum to life and who thrives in a structured, intellectually vibrant classroom.
What You'll Teach
As a K–3 teacher at Candeo, you will guide students through a carefully sequenced curriculum that includes:
Language Arts: Classic literature, phonics and decoding, grammar and handwriting, and early composition through narration and copywork.
History & Geography: Engaging stories and lessons from ancient civilizations, American history, and world cultures, tailored to grade level.
Science: Hands-on exploration of foundational science topics—such as the human body, plants and animals, simple machines, and the scientific method.
Mathematics: Strong emphasis on conceptual understanding and skill fluency through direct instruction and daily practice.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality instruction based on the Core Knowledge Sequence and Hillsdale College K–12 curriculum.
Establish a structured, joyful, and orderly classroom environment where students thrive academically and morally.
Set high expectations for student behavior, effort, and character, supporting the development of virtues such as perseverance, curiosity, and responsibility.
Use explicit instruction, guided practice, and Socratic discussion to promote deep understanding and active engagement.
Regularly assess student progress using formative and summative tools and use data to drive instruction.
Collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with families to support student success and uphold Candeo’s mission.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (required).
Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Teaching experience and/or familiarity with classical education and the Core Knowledge curriculum (preferred).
Strong classroom management grounded in high expectations and student accountability.
Love of academic content and commitment to ongoing learning.
