We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team and support our students' communication needs.
Position Overview
The Speech-Language Pathologist will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services for students with speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders. This role involves collaborating with educators, administrators, and families to support students in achieving their educational goals while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, including IDEA and Arizona Department of Education guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations using standardized and functional assessment tools.
Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to address students’ communication needs.
Provide direct therapy to students with identified speech and language disorders, following evidence-based practices.
Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and adjust therapy plans accordingly.
Participate in IEP meetings and provide expertise regarding communication development, disorders, and recommended supports.
Serve as a resource to teachers and staff in the development of classroom strategies and accommodations.
Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and outside agencies to support students’ communication goals.
Provide services in various settings, including general education classrooms, pull-out sessions, and small groups.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with IDEA and school standards.
Engage in professional development to remain current with state licensure requirements and best practices in the field.
Supervise speech-language pathology assistants (SLPAs) when assigned, in accordance with Arizona licensure requirements.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Valid Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Valid Arizona Department of Education (ADE) Speech-Language Pathologist Certificate (PreK–12).
Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred but not required for school setting.
Knowledge of IDEA, Arizona special education regulations, and best practices for service delivery in schools.
Preferred Skills
Experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and specialists.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to special education.
Proficiency in documentation and progress reporting.
Strong understanding of speech and language disorders and their impact on academic performance.
Ability to create effective and individualized treatment plans.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Sensitivity to and experience working with diverse student populations.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $40/hr (amount increases dependent on experience)
Part-time/Case management based.
