Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Performs morning duties of turning on two-way radio; take phone off Night, check voice messages and log absences
Takes care of bus changes, notifies secretary, transportation director and appropriate teachers
Properly releases student records to schools
Set up referrals
Obtains appropriate parent permission for evaluations, placement, and re-evaluations
Sets up IEP meetings and notifies all persons to be involved in such in a timely manner
Takes care of all student progress reports and makes sure appropriate copies are sent and filed
In charge of filing all forms and reports with appropriate organizations and copies are kept in appropriate files on campus.
Will set up both the Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation Team 1 and 2 meetings and have all required information available.
Will check with school psychologist to make sure s/he has IEP within 2 weeks of meeting and have all necessary information assembled and appropriately filed.
Will maintain special education files in compliance with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
Coordinate activities of the therapy team through scheduling and communication
Initial contact for all activity on school campus.
MOB liaison to all school districts regarding enrollment/withdrawal of all students, school records
Maintain school records for MOB students. Maintain enrollment packets for new students as well as withdrawal records.
Daily lunch count provided to food service director, cash count for staff lunches, cash sent to business office. (Cash responsibilities all consolidated with administrative assistant.)
Complete new student files at beginning of year. Assemble packets for school year.
At end of day, puts phone on Night and charges two-way radio
Compiles and files student grade and attendance reports and other school records.
Greets visitors to school, determines nature of business, and directs visitors to destination.
Talks with student encountering problem and resolves problem or directs student to appropriate person(s). Answers telephone to provide information, take message, or transfer calls.
Accepts and deposits funds for lunches, school supplies, and student activities.
Disburses funds, records financial transactions, and audits and balances student organization and other school fund accounts.
Maintains calendar of school events.
Shared duties with Administrative Assistant:
Composes, or transcribes from rough draft, correspondence, bulletins, memorandums, and other material.
Orders and dispenses school supplies and creates appropriate purchase order requests.
Maintains working knowledge of special education requirements and IDEA and ADE ESS
Monitoring documents
Attend district meetings and trainings as required
Training and support re: Power School
Assist staff on the appropriate use of technology in special education field for internet usage and IEP development
