Job Description:

Social Studies Teacher (Grades 9–12)
Location: West Valley, AZ
School Type: Small, established charter school with a credit recovery mission
Schedule:  Monday through Friday 7:30am – 4pm

We are seeking a highly qualified, energetic, and motivated Social Studies Teacher to join our team serving students in grades 9–12. Our school is dedicated to helping students recover credits and succeed academically in a supportive, focused environment.

Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution (advanced degree or additional coursework preferred)

·        Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements

·        Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card

·        Two years of experience in a Title I school (preferred)

·        Proficiency with instructional technology, including:

o   Computers

o   Interactive whiteboards

o   Microsoft Office Suite

o   Basic office equipment

·        Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse students and staff

Responsibilities:

·        Develop and implement engaging Social Studies lesson plans

·        Instruct and assess students in a hybrid (online/in-person) environment

·        Assign and grade homework and classwork

·        Prepare students for standardized testing

·        Maintain classroom management

·        Communicate regularly with parents/guardians

·        Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership
