JOB CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY
Responsible for preparing and serving meals to students, staff, and public.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is a skilled position responsible for the preparation of food.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The following are intended to describe core work functions of this classification. While the level and broad nature of essential duties may not change, specific work tasks will vary over time depending on the District’s needs.
• Develops recipes for catering events and Federal Child Nutrition Programs;
• Prepares and serves meals;
• Requests and assists in ordering, receiving and delivery of food and supplies;
• Maintain an orderly, safe, and clean kitchen/café at all times;
• Assists with stocking and replenishing of supplies;
• Provides high quality customer service; interacts with all students and staff in professional
manner;
• Assist with supervision of student safety;
• Maintains records of production and food safety and,
• Performs related work as assigned.

• Cooking and baking

• Reading, comprehending and following health and sanitization regulations
• Understanding written and verbal direction
• Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of directly-related education and experience.
Required Certifications/Licenses:
• Valid Arizona Food Handler’s Certificate, or obtain within two weeks of start date.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC).
