Job Description:
Tanque Verde Unified School District is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator-District. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.
This position will ensure district facilities are safe and clean; provides oversight of others in maintaining school grounds and buildings. Inspects, maintains and repairs mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment for planned maintenance.
This position typically reports to the Director of Operations. Working conditions may include inadequate lighting, restricted movement, dirty environment, air contamination, extreme temperatures, intense noise, hazardous material, lifts and carries heavy objects.
Example of Duties:
- - Identifies and communicates to operations and business office regarding critical issues in building operations, safety, health and code compliance.
- - Coordinates or performs repairs to building systems including but not limited to HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Roofing and fire and life safety devices and equipment.
- - Records and reports all corrective action required for planned maintenance to operations and to appropriate vendors.
- - Inspects and notes quality of maintenance performed.
- - Conducts spot checks on serviced equipment to verify work completion.
- - Prepares and issues emergency maintenance instructions to appropriate staff.
- - Inspects newly installed equipment for compliance and adherence to plans and specifications.
- - Responds to and executes required service for daily repair work orders.
- - Assists the Maintenance Coordinator II as needed with work orders requiring facility repair, or adherence to safety standards.
- - Maintains proper communication with Director of Operations, building Principal, and other employees hired to tend to school facilities and grounds.
- - Ensures that all safety practices are followed.
- - Responds to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
- - Keeps supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events.
- - Maintains confidentiality regarding school / workplace matters.
- - Demonstrates support of the school system and its goals and priorities.
- - Corresponds with vendors.
- - Assigns jobs to specific personnel and provides coordination among maintenance functions.
- - Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- - Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques and standards.
- - Knowledge of basic Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, life and fire safety equipment and their operation.
- - Ability to identify most appropriate and effective resources to affect a repair of identified equipment.
- - Ability to communicate effectively with others regarding issues with building operations.
- - Skilled in operating a wide variety of tools used in building trades.
- - Skill in coordinating the activities of subordinates.
- - Skill in using cleaning products and equipment.
- - Ability to work independently.
Minimum Qualifications:
- - Two years of equivalent experience; OR
- - Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training approved by the district.
