  JOB GOAL: 
To supervise as well as perform skilled work in the repair and maintenance of HVAC systems and controls associated with District buildings. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid Arizona driver’s license.
3. Must pass fingerprint and background clearance.
4. Experience with computers, such as email and work order systems.
5. Position requires the following physical demands:  be able to lift up to 50 lbs, be able to exert 50-60 lbs of force frequently, to lift push, pull or otherwise move objects.
6. Ability to walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop or kneel.
7. Knowledge of hand and power tools.
8. Must have five years of experience as a HVAC Technician.
9. Must have two years of experience as a supervisor.
10. Must have an HVAC universal certificate, and show completion of an EPA approved course in “Proper Refrigerant Usage”.
11. Working knowledge of all styles of air distribution as well as package and split systems DX air conditioning units.
12. Working knowledge of all types of HVAC controls systems.
13. Knowledge of centrifugal compressor style chiller, is preferred.
14. Read and understand blueprints and closeout books.
15. Knowledge of building codes.
16. Ability to work overtime and change schedules with minimal notice.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 261 days; 12 months
REPORTS TO:  Maintenance Supervisor
HOURS:   40 hours per week - Monday-Friday
CLASSIFICATION:  Hourly, Non-exempt

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

1. Supervises all Maintenance HVAC Technicians and Apprentices.
2. Install, repair and service all types of air conditioning units, related devices and systems.
3. Oversee and assist with the service and repair on mechanical building systems.
4. Establish and maintain records for materials and parts required to complete work orders and construction projects.
5. Monitor and oversee the work orders and parts orders assigned to Maintenance HVAC Technicians and Apprentices.
6. Estimate labor and material costs associated with an internal project. 
7. Scheduling during the school year for repairs as well as preventative maintenance on equipment and buildings.
8. Interface with outside contractors during remodel and new construction projects to insure the District’s requirements are being met.
9. On Call 24/7.
10. Performing duties relating to other job functions as assigned by the supervisor.
