Job Description:

THIS POSITION IS WITHIN A TRIBALLY CONTROLLED SCHOOL LOCATED ON THE HOPI RESERVATION, POLACCA, ARIZONA

INTRODUCTION - The incumbent provides professional educational services in one or more K-6 grade levels utilizing accepted teaching standards and research based on the individual needs of the students.  The teacher is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating an effective educational program consistent with current educational research, accepted educational mythologies and practices, prescribed policies and guidelines and applicable laws and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS - Must have a valid State of Arizona Teaching Certificate; Possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education OR a degree with a minor in Education; Must possess a valid Arizona Driver's License; Must complete and pass an extensive background investigation; Must complete and pass a pre-employment screening in accordance with First Mesa Elementary School Policies and Procedures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Have a minimum of one (1) year teaching experience in an educational setting.
