Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
Provides leadership for the professional staff of the school in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive educational program, and administers the program in accordance with school board policies and administrative rules and regulations. The School Principal is the instructional leader and is responsible for the total operation of the school including the administration and supervision of all phases of the instructional program and management of the facility. The School Principal shall provide leadership for the educational development of all students as well as promote parent and community involvement.

Ø Communicates a clear vision of excellence and continuous improvement consistent with Kingman Academy of Learning goals.
Ø Sets high standards of education for all teachers and students.
Ø Employs a variety of processes for gathering, analyzing, and using data for decision making.
Ø Works with District Administration to develop and implement a school improvement plan as needed.
Ø Develops an effective plan for allocation of fiscal resources.
Ø Ensures content alignment with standards.
Ø Uses data to make clear, observable changes in teaching.
Ø Promotes effective communication and interpersonal relations among staff, parents, students, and community members.
Ø Maintains effective discipline and fosters a safe learning environment.
Ø Selects, trains, and supports high quality instructional and support staff.
Ø Ensures professional development programs aligns with instructional needs.
Ø Coordinates and supervises all activities and programs conducted at the building level.
Ø Evaluates the implementation of programs within the building and provides in-service as needed.
Ø Evaluates the performance of all staff and provides opportunity for improvement and takes other steps when necessary.
Ø Maintains responsibility for maintenance and proper utilization of facilities.
Ø Responsible for the overall achievement and welfare of all students within the building.
Ø Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ø Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and interpretations regarding education and student and staff due process.
Ø Experience in implementing the philosophy of Kingman Academy of Learning, current trends in education, curriculum, staff development, and essential elements of instruction.
Ø Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other administrators, employees, citizens, and community members.
Ø Personal qualities associated with good human and interpersonal relations.
Ø Possess qualities in shared decision-making skills.
Ø Ability to lead staff toward instructional improvement and positively affect students.
Ø Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Ø Principal Certificate from the State of Arizona
Ø Official transcript
Ø State of Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Ø Health Certificate verifying appropriate immunizations
