Job Description:
Responsible for the administration and maintenance of the school within the rules and
regulations established by the Governing Board. The Principal will plan, direct, and assist in the evaluation of the instructional program, school activities, and school building operation to insure maximum educational opportunities for students.
Specific
Formulate and implement plans to provide instructional leadership for staff members in
developing and further improving the instructional program and each member's professional competency.
Assist in screening, hiring, and assignment of school's certified and classified
staffs.
Evaluate all personnel for whom he/she is administratively responsible and submit
evaluations according to established procedures.
Direct the preparation of necessary records, reports, requisitions, supply orders, and clerical work related to the school operation.
Direct implementation of Governing Board approved policies and administrative procedures applicable to the operation of the school.
Assume responsibility for the attendance, conduct, and health of students.
Establish guides for proper student conduct and maintain student discipline in accordance with established policy.
Work with members of the central administrative staff on school related problems through
attendance at administrative meetings and other meetings as are required or
appropriate.
Administer the functions of the custodial and maintenance services at the school for
which he/she is responsible, within the limits of established procedures.
Supervise and evaluate procedures related to maintaining and operating an accurate system of financial management of school funds.
Assist in the interpretation of the elementary school program to interested
parents, school related groups, and others in the community concerned with the school
program.
Keep abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional
meetings, reading professional literature, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or as appropriate.
