Pine Strawberry Elementary School District is accepting applications for a full-time certified Elementary Music Teacher and Middle School Band Director to provide engaging, standards-based music instruction to elementary students and to develop a comprehensive band program for middle school students. This position fosters a love of music, builds foundational skills, and promotes student performance opportunities that support school culture and community engagement.
Qualifications:
Valid Arizona Arts Education, PreK-12 Music Certificate OR Teaching Certificate with Music Endorsement
Current IVP Fingerprint Card
Knowledge of elementary music pedagogy and instrumental music instruction
Ability to teach a range of instruments typically included in a beginning band program.
Experience teaching both elementary music and middle school band
Experience integrating music into school culture and events
Occasional evening events for concerts/performances
Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and effective professional relationships with teachers, administrators, parents, students
Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with parents and school personnel at all levels
Duties and Responsibilities:
Elementary Music:
Plan and deliver standards-based music instruction aligned with Arizona Academic Standards in the Arts
Teach fundamental music concepts including rhythm, melody, harmony, movement, and basic instruments
Incorporate singing, movement, instruments, and creative expression into lessons
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
Support school culture through music integration (assemblies, programs, CKH connections, etc.)
Middle School Band:
Develop and implement a comprehensive band program (beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels as appropriate)
Teach instrumental techniques, music literacy, and ensemble performance skills
Organize and lead concerts, performances, and possible community events
Maintain inventory and care of instruments, music, and equipment
Program & School Responsibilities:
Organize at least performances throughout the year (concerts, school events, community engagement opportunities)
Collaborate with staff to support school-wide events and culture initiatives
Communicate effectively with families regarding performances, expectations, and student progress
Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment aligned with school expectations (e.g., CKH/EXCEL)
Participate in professional development and staff collaboration
Support supervision duties and other assigned responsibilities
Professional Standards:

Accepts supervision and direction of the site administrator
Appropriately communicates and interacts with other staff in academic planning and school committee work
