Job Description:

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with communication disorders and language challenges

Essential Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify communication disorders and language challenges.
  • Collaborate with educators and parents to interpret assessment results and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to address speech and language goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans based on individual student needs.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to address articulation, fluency, voice, and language disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to support a multidisciplinary approach to student success.
  • Attend Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of goals and strategies.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress.
  • Provide resources and guidance for extending speech and language support at home.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and interventions.
  • Generate reports for IEP meetings and collaborate on data-driven decision-making.
  • Stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology and educational practices.
  • Engage in continuous professional learning to enhance therapeutic effectiveness.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • State licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) (preferred)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of previous experience in field (preferred)
  • Experience working with students in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
  • Valid Arizona State licensure or certification in field 

Clearances:

  • Measles/Mumps/Rubella Immunity/Vaccination
  • Valid I-9 form
  • AZ Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Working Environment:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands; the employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
