Language Arts Lab Teacher (Elective)

Job Description: 

  • Work with at-risk students and students in need of English I-IV and English remediation.
  • Remediate deficiencies in grammar, mechanics, and vocabulary needed for student success.
  • Provide group and one-on-one instruction.
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students.
  • Maintain accurate and complete individual student records as required by laws, policies, and as needed to support school reporting.
  • Enforce all administration policies and rules governing students.
  • Assign and grade class work.
  • Prepare material, lesson plans and classrooms for class activities.
  • Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, and social development.
  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
  • Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress. Ensure assignments adhere to Arizona academic standards.
  • Act as support to other teachers and staff within the work environment.
